With the “YES / NO” series, Abraham Aronovitch explores the great existential questions. Appearances, doubts, the “yeses” that are “noes”, and vice versa. How can we be our own worst enemies rather than trying to become our own best friends? How can we solve the problems of this world if we are beset by too great an inner uncertainty? This questioning approach runs through his work and draws on the Greek wisdom of “know thyself”. Simple yet profound questions, leading to the construction of a symbolic universe of surprising colours and forms, capable of confronting the viewer with their own notion of free will.
